Deputies search for car wash vandal

McDowell County sheriff’s deputies need help identifying the suspect caught on camera vandalizing items at a car wash. It was reported on Tuesday, May 1 that someone used a hammer to bust two LCD display panels at Zip Car Wash, at 2111 U.S. 70 West in Marion, causing $1,200 worth of damage. Surveillance video at the car wash captured an older white man vandalizing the display panels at 7:19 a.m. on Monday, April 30, but investigators have not been able to identify him. Anyone with information concerning the crime or suspect is asked to call Detective Paul Alkire at the Sheriff’s Office at 652-2237 or McDowell County Crime Stoppers at 65-CRIME (652-7463).
